This is the identification for the second level of the CA (Chartered Accountancy) course conducted by the ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India). The course is identified as IPCC (Integrated Professional Competence Course) and the examination at the end of the course is identified as IPCE (Integrated Professional Competence Examination)

This is the second level for all students taking up the chartered accountancy course after getting through the CA CPT (Chartered Accountancy Common Proficiency Test).

It is the period starting from the time the student gets registered for the course, to the time the student completes the coaching and other formalities required for being eligible for appearing at the main examination at this level.

IPCC or Integrated Professional Competence Course is the second level of Chartered Accountancy examinations. A person can take the IPCC Examination after passing CPT and nine months of study. IPCC has two groups of seven subjects. Group – I consists of four subjects and Group – II of three subjects.

• Paper 2 : Business Laws, Ethics and Communication
• Paper 3 : Cost Accounting and Financial Management
• Paper 4 : Taxation

Group II:

• Paper 5 : Advanced Accounting

A passing grade in IPCC is awarded if the candidate obtains 40% marks in each subject (a subject is attributed 100 marks) and an aggregate of 50% in the aggregate in each group. Benefit of set-off is also available if the candidate appears for both groups together and obtains 50% collectively in both groups, even if he fails to obtain an individual aggregate of 50% in the each group independently.

The Bachelor of Commerce degree is designed to provide a student with a wide range of managerial skills while at the same time, builds competence in a particular area of business studies (see below). Most universities therefore, plan the degree such that in addition to their major, students are exposed to general business principles, taking courses in accounting, finance, business management, human resources, statistics, marketing, economics, information systems.
